Just like you is a performance artwork and monologue about identity, family and having a 'unique' name. The work invites audiences on a journey from external validation to internal acceptance on the wings of adventure and deep gratitude. A funny and heartbreaking story of connection and disconnection, grandure and authenticity.

"It caused me to think a lot -about identity - What it is, how it is formed, preconceptions, belonging, not belonging, names, family, culture, nationality... It was about a lot more than a name."
"It was more than you just telling us a personal story - it somehow made it more universal."
"It resonated with me because I gave my daughter an unusual name. She struggled with it at times but has grown to love and embrace it. Also growing up within a culturally diverse community I have friends who westernized their names and others who didn't and I accept either choice as part of their identity. Also have a trans person in my family and I think this would also resonate with them. Names bestowed on us are such an important part of our face to the world and yet may or may not reflect who we know we are."
"We are all more sensitive to others from watching your work."
"I found it deeply moving and powerful."
