Frame-work is a site responsive choreographic work first presented in the 'Circling the Brink' performance program at TarraWarra Museum of Art. Within the work the dancer (Özer) in all white, like a living canvas, is constantly moving in response to the given environment. Özer attempts to, through her movement, frame her environment. Given the laws of physics she mostly fails and the expansive environment frames her. In this way, Frame-work navigates her attempt.
Frame-work is created by Gülsen Özer in collaboration with musician Gelareh Pour with support from performing artist Dani-Ela Kayler. Pour and Özer began collaborating in 2015 working together on a new dance-theatre work called 'Square Peg' which enjoyed a sell out season in the La Mamma Explorations Season. The costume is created by Karla Erenbots.
This project is proudly supported by Yarra Ranges Council through their Dance Here program.
