Iris is a contemporary dance-theatre stage work. The performances focuses on two characters; Aberdeen and Abigail who share an imaginary friend, Iris.
Iris is tragic-comedy, which traverses the spectrum of naturalistic and non-naturalistic performance modes; exploring the power of the unseen as a positive part of human development and imagination.
Artists Gülsen Özer and Dani-Ela Kayler explore and reinterpret their own lived experiences in both rural and suburban Australian contexts fill the work with a sense of celebration as well as poking fun at cultural vernacular, values and myths.
