This work was programmed as part of Dancing Place: Corhanwarrabul; performances, walks and workshops at sites of Kalorama, Mt Dandenong and Mt Corhanwarrabul and curated by Gretel Taylor.
Opened by a Welcome to Country by Wurundjeri Head Man, Murrundindi, and with a place consciousness grounded in Indigenous presence, Dancing Place: Corhanwarrabul introduces locals and visitors to diverse modes of performance in relation to place.
The program featured leading local and Melbourne-based artists and cultural leaders, Murrundindi, Mandy Nicholson and Djirri Djirri Dancers, Gulsen Ozer, Dani-Ela Kayler, Tammy Wong-Hulbert, Marnie Badham, Vivienne Rogis, Gretel Taylor and Environmental Performance Authority.
This was an outdoor event on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th November, 2020, with COVID-safe project management planning in place, including social distancing and strict audience capacity and was funded by Yarra Ranges Council through their Community Grants program and in association with RidgeWalk.
